Culled annually during the fall hunting season, the hides do not go to waste. Gallun's proprietary light metal "Alum" or "Aluminum" Teton tannage is the base for this leather, after which it is retanned, introducing color, wax, and oils to dye, lubricate, and fill the typically soft and spongy fibers associated with deer. The retanning fills those voids and
